- 1 box white cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup strawberry jello
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup whipped cream or Cool Whip
- Fresh strawberries for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare your baking pan by greasing and flouring a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Mix the batter: In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Whisk until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Cool the cake in the pan for about 10 minutes.
- Poke holes all over the top of the cake with a fork.
- Prepare the jello: Dissolve the strawberry jello in 1 cup of boiling water.
- Add the jello mixture evenly over the warm cake.
- Chill the cake until room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Top with whipped cream and garnish with fresh strawberries.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
This cake tastes better the following day, allowing the jello to set overnight. Customize with different jello flavors or add fruit for texture.
