- 2 cups sourdough discard
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- Coarse salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Whisk together the sourdough discard, warm water, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the flour gradually, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for 30-60 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Bring at least 6 cups of water to a boil in a large pot and carefully add the baking soda.
- Cut the risen dough into small pieces and shape them into bite-sized balls.
- Boil each piece in the baking soda water for about 30 seconds.
- Place the boiled bites on a greased baking sheet lined with parchment paper and sprinkle with coarse salt.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
