Description

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of bread, cubed (brioche or challah)
  • 2 ripe peaches, sliced
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Layer the cubed bread and sliced peaches in the baking dish.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the bread and peaches, and press down gently.
  5. Cover with foil and let sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  6. Bake covered for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake an additional 15-20 minutes until golden.
  7. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup.
