Description

A comforting dish featuring juicy meatballs and al dente pasta simmered in rich marinara sauce, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, rotini, or penne)
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine your ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, mix together the ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Form into mini meatballs, about an inch in size.
  2. Brown the meatballs: Heat olive oil over medium heat in your large pot. Add the meatballs and brown for approximately 5-7 minutes. Remove from the pot and set aside.
  3. Cook the pasta: In the same pot, combine pasta, marinara sauce, and broth. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring frequently.
  4. Add the meatballs back: Once boiling, gently nestle the meatballs back into the pasta mix. Lower heat, cover, and let simmer for 10-12 minutes until pasta is tender.
  5. Serve and garnish: Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves.

Notes

Make-Ahead Tips: Prepare the meatball mixture ahead and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
