- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, rotini, or penne)
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Combine your ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, mix together the ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Form into mini meatballs, about an inch in size.
- Brown the meatballs: Heat olive oil over medium heat in your large pot. Add the meatballs and brown for approximately 5-7 minutes. Remove from the pot and set aside.
- Cook the pasta: In the same pot, combine pasta, marinara sauce, and broth. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring frequently.
- Add the meatballs back: Once boiling, gently nestle the meatballs back into the pasta mix. Lower heat, cover, and let simmer for 10-12 minutes until pasta is tender.
- Serve and garnish: Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves.
