- 1½ teaspoons salt
- 1 cup active sourdough starter
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, bread flour, and salt until integrated.
- Add Starter and Water: Introduce the active sourdough starter and water into the bowl. Use a wooden spoon or your hands to combine until you form a shaggy dough.
- Knead the Dough: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for around 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise at room temperature for about 4-6 hours.
- Preheat the Oven: About 30 minutes before your dough finishes rising, preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Shape the Dough: Gently turn the risen dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a round loaf.
- Final Rest: Place the loaf on parchment paper and cover for an additional 30 minutes.
- Bake the Loaf: Bake in the hot oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool Before Slicing: Allow your loaf to cool on a wire rack before slicing.
