Ingredients

- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
Instructions
- Combine the flour, salt, and yeast in a large bowl.
- Pour in the warm water and mix until a shaggy, sticky dough forms.
- Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
- Turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface and gently shape it into a ball.
- Flip the dough seam-side down, cover it with a floured towel, and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place your Dutch oven inside to heat.
- Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven and place the dough inside, covering with a lid.
- Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow the bread to cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
For added flavor, consider incorporating herbs or spices into the dough. If you don’t have a Dutch oven, use a covered oven-safe pot or skillet.
