Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup warm milk

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a mixing bowl, whisk the warm milk and sugar together. Sprinkle the instant yeast on top and let it rest for about 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Create the dough: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Pour in the frothy yeast mixture and melted butter. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, kneading for about 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. First rise: Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl, covering it with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm spot for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Form the bites: After the dough has risen, punch it down gently and roll small portions into balls.
  6. Fry them up: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry the dough balls for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Coat and enjoy: Toss the warm bites in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon, then cool slightly on a wire rack.
