Description

A refreshing and effervescent drink combining the bright flavors of lemon with sparkling water and a touch of vanilla.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/3 Cup Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • Zest of 1 Lemon
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Cup Chilled Sparkling Water
  • 1/2 Cup Chilled Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wine or Extra Sparkling Water
  • Ice Cubes
  • 1 Small Lemon, Thinly Sliced
  • Fresh Mint Sprigs for Garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine fresh lemon juice, granulated sugar, water, and lemon zest in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves (about 2-3 minutes).
  2. Remove from heat, stir in pure vanilla extract, and let it cool completely.
  3. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a container to remove zest particles.
  4. Fill two large wine glasses halfway with ice cubes.
  5. Pour 3 tablespoons of the cooled syrup into each glass.
  6. Add 1/2 cup of chilled sparkling water and 1/4 cup of non-alcoholic sparkling wine to each glass.
  7. Gently stir to combine without excessive agitation.
  8. Garnish with thin lemon slices and fresh mint sprigs; serve immediately.

Notes

Serve fresh for the best flavor. Prepare syrup ahead of time and store in the fridge for up to a week.
