Description

A comforting casserole featuring layers of ground beef, tender potatoes, fresh green beans, and gooey cheese, perfect for family dinners or cozy nights in.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced thinly
  • 2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed and cut
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite type)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth or water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic in the skillet until the onion turns translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Prepare a greased 9×13 inch baking dish by layering sliced potatoes evenly at the bottom.
  5. Layer the beef mixture on top of the potatoes, followed by the fresh green beans.
  6. Pour the beef broth over the layers, and season generously with salt and pepper.
  7. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Add the shredded cheese on top and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let the casserole sit for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Customize with different cheese types or vegetables. Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge.
