- 14 oz (396 g) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (50 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup (95 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs at room temperature
- 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp (1.5 g) salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
- Prepare your baking pan by lining it with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a mixing bowl in the microwave or over low heat.
- Stir in the granulated sugar while the butter is warm.
- Incorporate the eggs, one at a time, whisking thoroughly after each addition.
- Add vanilla extract and mix well.
- Whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Pour about 3/4 of the sweetened condensed milk into the brownie batter and gently fold it in.
- Layer half of the brownie batter into the lined pan, then drizzle with half of the reserved condensed milk caramel.
- Repeat layering with the remaining batter and caramel.
- Swirl the caramel through the batter with a knife.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.
- Cool the brownies in the pan on a wire rack for at least 1 hour before slicing.
Notes
Allowing the brownies to cool will help set the gooey caramel for easy slicing.
