- 8 oz Pasta (Penne or Fusilli)
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 2 Onions (Thinly Sliced)
- 1 cup Beef or Vegetable Broth
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 1 cup Gruyere Cheese (Shredded)
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese (Shredded)
- 2 cloves Garlic (Minced)
- Salt and Pepper (to taste)
- 1 tsp Thyme (Dried or Fresh)
- 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese (Optional for Topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring gently, until deep brown, about 20-25 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another minute, stirring frequently.
- Stir in the broth and heavy cream, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme to taste.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the onion mixture and half of both cheeses in a large bowl.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with the remaining cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
