Description

A delightful crumb cake infused with warm flavors and a crunchy topping, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and milk until smooth.
  4. Prepare the dry ingredients in another bowl: whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Mix the dry mixture into the wet ingredients gently, just until combined.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  7. Create the crumb topping by mixing together brown sugar, oats, cinnamon, and melted butter until crumbly.
  8. Sprinkle half of the crumb topping over the first layer of batter.
  9. Pour the remaining batter over the crumb topping and sprinkle the rest over the surface.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Crumb cake keeps well; it’s even better the next day. Feel free to customize with fruits or nuts!
