Description

A delightful fusion of crispy churros and soft French toast, this Churro French Toast is the perfect indulgent brunch treat, coated in cinnamon sugar and served with maple syrup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of thick-cut bread (brioche or Texas toast)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Additional cinnamon and sugar for coating

Instructions

  1. Prepare the egg mixture: Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon in a shallow dish.
  2. Heat your skillet: Place a skillet over medium heat and melt butter.
  3. Soak the bread: Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture for about 5 seconds on each side.
  4. Cook with love: Place the soaked bread in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Coat in cinnamon sugar: Combine sugar and cinnamon in a bowl, then roll the cooked toast in the mixture.
  6. Serve immediately with toppings like maple syrup or whipped cream.

Notes

For a make-ahead option, soak bread slices in the egg mixture overnight and cook straight from the fridge. You can also use an air fryer for a healthier alternative.
