- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, pour in the sourdough starter, milk, vegetable oil, and sugar. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
- In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; whisk well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Carefully fold in the chocolate chips.
- Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the muffins cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
Make the batter the night before and bake fresh muffins in the morning. You can also use an air fryer for a quicker bake.
