Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp milk (for frosting)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • A pinch of salt (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake tray with liners.
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together sugar and vegetable oil. Then add eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
  4. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Fill the cupcake liners about two-thirds full with batter.
  6. Bake for 18-22 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the tray for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
  8. To make the frosting, beat the softened butter until creamy, then add cocoa powder and powdered sugar, gradually adding milk until desired consistency.
  9. Frost the cooled cupcakes generously.
