- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 ½ cups warm water
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- Coarse salt for topping
Instructions
- Mix flour, yeast, salt, and sugar in a large bowl using a wooden spoon until there are no dry ingredients remaining.
- Pour in warm water and melted butter. Stir until a rough dough forms.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface. Knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Shape dough into a ball, place it in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for about 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Brush rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse salt.
- Bake in the oven for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm.
Notes
Make-ahead tips: Prepare the dough a day in advance and refrigerate after the first rise. Let it rise at room temperature before baking.
