- 2 cups light brown sugar, packed
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk or 2% milk
- 2/3 cup vegetable oil
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
- 1 large egg (for filling)
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease two 1-pound loaf pans generously with cooking spray or butter.
- Whisk together the packed light brown sugar, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until well blended.
- Combine the eggs, milk, and vegetable oil in a large bowl or stand mixer. Beat until smooth.
- Add the dry ingredients gradually to the wet mixture, stirring gently. Avoid overmixing.
- Divide half the batter equally between the prepared loaf pans, spreading evenly.
- Beat the cream cheese with granulated sugar and egg until smooth.
- Spoon the cream cheese mixture down the center of the batter in each loaf pan.
- Cover the cream cheese filling with the remaining batter.
- Drizzle caramel sauce on top and swirl it with a knife.
- Bake for approximately 50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Make ahead by preparing the batter a day in advance. Store leftovers in an airtight container or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat slices in the microwave or toaster.
