Description

A delightful bread filled with cream cheese and topped with caramel, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk or 2% milk
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 large egg (for filling)
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease two 1-pound loaf pans generously with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Whisk together the packed light brown sugar, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until well blended.
  3. Combine the eggs, milk, and vegetable oil in a large bowl or stand mixer. Beat until smooth.
  4. Add the dry ingredients gradually to the wet mixture, stirring gently. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Divide half the batter equally between the prepared loaf pans, spreading evenly.
  6. Beat the cream cheese with granulated sugar and egg until smooth.
  7. Spoon the cream cheese mixture down the center of the batter in each loaf pan.
  8. Cover the cream cheese filling with the remaining batter.
  9. Drizzle caramel sauce on top and swirl it with a knife.
  10. Bake for approximately 50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  11. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Make ahead by preparing the batter a day in advance. Store leftovers in an airtight container or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat slices in the microwave or toaster.
