Description

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8-inch thickness.
  3. Cut the pastry into 4×4-inch squares.
  4. Create the filling by gently combining blackberries, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract.
  5. Assemble the turnovers by placing a generous spoonful of the blackberry mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  6. Fold each square into a triangle and press the edges together to seal.
  7. Apply the egg wash generously on top of the turnovers.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serve warm.
