Description

Delightfully fluffy and sweet, these banana donut holes are a nostalgic treat that brings joy to any occasion, featuring a crispy exterior and a soft banana interior.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, sugar, milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Stir until creamy and well-blended.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir gently until just combined.
  4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Using a spoon, drop small spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, frying until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Once golden, remove the donut holes with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar.

Notes

These donuts adapt well with various toppings, such as cinnamon sugar or a creamy glaze. For a vegan version, substitute applesauce for the egg.
