Description

Delicious apple pie doughnuts infused with warm spices and coated in powdered sugar, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup apple pie filling
  • Powdered sugar for coating

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your doughnut pan with non-stick spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well blended.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and softened butter until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then stir in the buttermilk until the batter is smooth and inviting.
  5. Gradually fold in the dry ingredient mixture using a spatula, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the apple pie filling, distributing it evenly without crushing the apple pieces.
  7. Spoon the batter into the prepared doughnut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the doughnuts to cool briefly before coating them in powdered sugar while they’re still warm.
