Description
Delicious apple pie doughnuts infused with warm spices and coated in powdered sugar, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup apple pie filling
- Powdered sugar for coating
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your doughnut pan with non-stick spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well blended.
- In another bowl, cream together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and softened butter until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then stir in the buttermilk until the batter is smooth and inviting.
- Gradually fold in the dry ingredient mixture using a spatula, being careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the apple pie filling, distributing it evenly without crushing the apple pieces.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared doughnut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the doughnuts to cool briefly before coating them in powdered sugar while they’re still warm.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For a richer experience, consider adding a vanilla glaze or dipping the doughnuts in chocolate.
