Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with colorful liners.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture alternately with the milk.
- Divide the finished batter into two bowls. Tint one bowl with red food coloring.
- Drop spoonfuls of red and white batter into each cupcake liner, creating swirls.
- Gently swirl the batter in each cup with a toothpick.
- Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
