Description

Oven Braised Beer Brats with Caramelized Onions is a delicious and hearty dish that combines the rich flavors of beer and sweet onions with juicy bratwurst, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 4 bratwurst sausages
  • 1 cup beer (lager or ale)
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add the sliced onions.
  3. Cook the onions until they are soft and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Add brown sugar, salt, and pepper to the onions and stir well.
  5. In a baking dish, place the bratwurst and pour the beer over them.
  6. Top the bratwurst with the caramelized onions.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the bratwurst are browned.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.
