Lebanese Arayes are delicious meat-stuffed pitas that are grilled to perfection, offering a flavorful and satisfying meal.
Ingredients

- 500g ground beef or lamb
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita breads
- Olive oil for brushing
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium heat.
- Cut each pita bread in half to create pockets.
- Stuff each pita pocket with the meat mixture, pressing down gently to ensure they are filled.
- Brush the outside of the stuffed pitas with olive oil.
- Place the stuffed pitas on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the meat is cooked through and the pita is crispy.
- Remove from the grill and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve with tahini sauce or yogurt for dipping.
- Feel free to add your favorite spices or herbs to the meat mixture.
- These can also be baked in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-20 minutes.
