Crockpot Cabbage Roll Casserole is a hearty and flavorful dish that combines all the classic ingredients of cabbage rolls in a convenient slow-cooked format.

- 1 large head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic until fully cooked.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, cooked rice, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
- In the crockpot, layer half of the chopped cabbage at the bottom.
- Spread half of the beef mixture over the cabbage layer.
- Add the remaining cabbage on top of the beef mixture.
- Top with the remaining beef mixture.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- If using, sprinkle shredded cheese on top during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
Notes
- Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before cooking.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
