- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix cornstarch and flour together.
- Dip chicken pieces in the beaten egg, then coat with the flour mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy, then remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate saucepan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer until the sauce thickens.
- Toss the fried chicken in the orange sauce until well coated.
- Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.
Notes
- For extra crunch, double fry the chicken.
- Adjust the sweetness of the sauce by adding more or less sugar.
- Serve with steamed rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
