Description

A delicious and crispy orange chicken recipe that combines sweet and tangy flavors for a delightful meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cornstarch and flour together.
  2. Dip chicken pieces in the beaten egg, then coat with the flour mixture.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy, then remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. In a separate saucepan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer until the sauce thickens.
  7. Toss the fried chicken in the orange sauce until well coated.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, double fry the chicken.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the sauce by adding more or less sugar.
  • Serve with steamed rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
