Description

Delicious hand-held creations with a flaky pastry exterior and rich, creamy chicken filling.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, green onions, garlic powder, and onion powder. Season with salt and pepper, then stir until smooth.
  3. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares, about 4 inches each.
  4. Place a spoonful of the creamy chicken mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Fold the pastry over to create a pillow shape and seal the edges using a fork.
  6. Arrange the pillows on a lined baking sheet.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute Greek yogurt for cream cheese. Can be made vegetarian with sautéed mushrooms and spinach.
