Description

Aromatic and flavorful Chicken Shawarma marinated with spices and served with creamy garlic sauce, wrapped in soft pita bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Pita bread and assorted vegetables for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a large mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, olive oil, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Add the chicken thighs to the bowl and coat evenly with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden-brown and juices run clear.
  4. Make the Garlic Sauce: In a separate bowl, mix yogurt, mayonnaise, and lemon juice until smooth.
  5. Serve and Assemble: Slice the cooked chicken and serve in warm pita bread with garlic sauce and fresh vegetables.
