- 4 large tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the tops off the tomatoes and scoop out the insides, leaving a shell.
- In a bowl, mix together the mozzarella cheese, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, olive oil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff the mixture into the hollowed-out tomatoes.
- Place the stuffed tomatoes in a baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to add cooked ground meat or vegetables to the stuffing for extra flavor.
- These can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
